This is an all-purpose post for getting in touch with the mods that provides an alternative to PM, IM, Plurk, or email. It can be used by members of Entranceway and non-members alike for questions, comments, problems, and suggestions!

Here are the types of things that this post is meant for:

+ Suggestions +
Events that don't quite fit your character, but that you want to see happen anyway.
Ideas to make gameplay run more smoothly.
Idea out for how Entranceway can draw in new players.

+ Questions +
Topics not addressed on the FAQ page.
Questions that are character- or canon-specific.
Questions about the setting and plot.
Questions about app requirements that aren't addressed on the application page.

Depending on the nature of the question, we may or may not be able to answer, especially if it's plot-based. This is to prevent ooc knowledge from leaking too much into the characters and to also keep the players on their toes. Others, though, we'll answer to the best of our abilities. ♥

+ Problems +
We'd prefer it that you poke us on AIM or Plurk so we can deal with it immediately, but there are times when there are time conflicts and things, right? So please comment here with the problem, and we'll deal with as fast as we can.

+ Other +
There are no doubt going to be occasional questions, concerns, and comments that don't fall under the three categories above (e.g. praise, reaction .gifs, singing and lute-playing). Please feel free to use this post for those as well.

All comments will be screened and anonymous commenting is also allowed. Some comments will be unscreened and left both for future reference and the sake of transparency. Other comments may be left screened, if they are of a delicate or personal nature.

Hello!

I was wondering about policies re: recent canon/localization. Is there a set period of time you would like applicants to wait before applying for a character from a new release, or would it be fine to simply paste a warning label as needed?

I looked at the rules and faq and couldn't find an answer, and am sorry if it was in fact mentioned and happened to be overlooked.

Thank you so much for your time. (:

Question! Is there a library on the mirror side?

Hi! Just a curiousity for a character; how would blind characters be dealt with, considering a lot of the plot involves being able to see the mirrors?

Random question, but are there stars in Wonderland? If characters were to look up at the night sky, would they see the constellations they're used to or would it be a whole new skyscape?

Question on the death policy; I just wanted to verify how this will work for Jack, due to his status as a Fixed Point. Will his immortality be affected by Wonderland, or will it function as normal?

Hello!

I was wondering about how much headcanon is allowed on personality.

The character in question is Kamizuki Izumo from Naruto. We don't see a great deal of him and he doesn't have a lot of dialogue, but it's enough to get a general idea of his personality. The problem is, we never see him off-duty. I tend to headcanon that he's a little more laid-back and flirty when he's not on the job. Is this acceptable?

Also, we have literally no background information on him. At all. Apparently he sprang fully-fledged from the trees as a ninja. I'll just put in what is canon in the app, but for playing purposes I have a sketch of a background story; is this alright? Should I put it in the app or discuss it with ya'll over AIM to ensure it is acceptable?

And one more thing. This is a very minor detail; we never see Izumo's right eye. In previous games and PSLs I've played him as having heterochromia in that eye: that eye green, the other brown. Would this be allowed here? I am okay with it if it isn't, I just wondered.

Thank you very much!

Re: bedrooms: Settings information states that a bedroom will change to accommodate the person once claimed. Does this only happen when the room is initially claimed, or can it be changed later on to further suit the characters living there?

Hey! I have a question about the bedrooms as well!

If the bedrooms respond to a character's needs, would this also include unconscious needs? Like, for instance, if a character's primary interest was in protecting himself or herself, would the rooms chance to reflect that?

I'm wondering about Adam specifically, since his concern is the supernatural, and as you might know Supernatural canon has all sorts of nifty tricks for warding against that kind of thing with symbols, salt, iron, etc. Even if he didn't consciously know how to create wards himself but he wanted a "safe" room, would Wonderland accommodate that need?

Hello! I swear I read it somewhere before but now I can't find it. If a character is holding something when they are brought over to Wonderland- say a book or a weapon or what have you- do these items cross over with them or are they left empty handed?

Hello! I have two quick questions about the setting.

The first one is about a character's arrival. If a character has been recently injured (in this case, is still recovering from a pretty nasty injury), will they arrive with the injury still? And also, do characters heal normally as they would in their own worlds, or do the injuries get healed completely in Wonderland? I ask this because the kind of wound in question involved a Morgul arrow, which has a poison that spreads across the person's body, and even after the wound is closed it never heals completely.

The second question is about the rooms. I've seen quite a few questions about this so I apologize if I'm repeating anyone's words. You say that the rooms will change according to a character's conscious or unconscious needs. But how about a character's unconscious wants? Would it be possible, for instance, for a room to change itself into something very similar to the character's room back home?

I've read the various information posts, and I do hope I'm not bothering you with questions you have answered before. Thank you in advance!

I have an oddly specific question relating to Lia, here.

I noticed in the settings page that the image of the hallway is actually one from the palace at Versailles. Since Lia lived there, it's a good bet she would recognize it if it was a copy.

...so I'm assuming it's just a suitably grand and ostentatious place, correct? And that she would be reminded of Versailles but it would not in fact be a replica?

App-writer here, with a question! Hannibal's past is very defined by Thomas Harris and has some key points that are important for his development as a character, but the shifted timeline of the show makes a certain aspect (Nazi occupation of Lithuania) impossible. My family is from Latvia so I had a long conversation with my dad about how this situation could work out in the 60s-70s as opposed to the 40s and came up with the only logical adaptation. TECHNICALLY it's headcanon but only in that certain details are changed to make what needs to happen possible in a shifted timeline. Can it be included in my app?

Hi! Newbie question. I'm thinking of applying with a canon alternate Jim Kirk aka Jane Kirk. She actually does have her own canon and own universe separate from AOS Jim found in the official comics. I know alternate universe characters are allowed and I have spoken to your current Jim player who is all for this. But I wanted to run this by the mods first before reserving.

Jane and Jim together.

Hello, I have two questions regarding my character Satan and specifically his powers. I should have asked before but, do you expect any sort of power cap for very powerful characters?

I understand characters keep their powers, but Satan has powers to directly influence the environment. he can grow a volcano in the middle of the gardens, bring forth an Earthquake, rain, hail, or set everything on fire. So the question is, can he do such thing? And if so, is there a limit to it?

Another power is time-travel. If it's not allowed in game, it's not really a problem because Satan avoids using that for a whole bunch of reasons, BUT. if it IS allowed, is it possible for him to go back in past aka Wonderland's past. because if so, i'd like to discuss that better with you and probably make an actual decent plot out of it - but of course, i thought about asking if Satan still has this power or not, before rambling on about a plot.

I have done some scouring and I can't readily find any information on the Core under the Settings header. I actually had to Google it to confirm my suspicions about it (mostly) being on the Mirror Side.

I found this in an old plotting post:

There were many false leads as to where the Queen and Alice were, and obstacles along the way. One was an all white room, otherwise known as The Core. If someone stumbled upon this room (it tends to move around on Mirror Side), it would steal one of their memories – a much larger memory than the single words the events usually take.

Are characters (if granted access to the Mirror Side) able to freely visit the Core? Maybe not open the door, but visit and stand outside and take pictures (and argue and scream and yell about definitely not going in)?

AND, is it possible to add the information about the Core to the settings so other people know it exists, or is it supposed to be pretty hush-hush?

<333 Thanks for being awesome mods, btw~

Hello mods! I have a question about items. Where my character is being pulled he would have his 3D gear on him. In case you aren't aware of what that is they are devices that the military in his world uses to fight titans and with them they are able to move through the air.

Since he has it on his person would he have it in wonderland or would he have to buy it from a vendor if he wanted it back?

I have a few questions about joint posts, when it comes to AC!

Can they count as an open post for both of the people making the post? Assuming that both of the people who made it are responding to the comments, of course.

And does it matter how the responses are done? Since it can either be that each characters replies to each comment separately, or that they do a combined three-person thread.

I'm sorry if my phrasing with this is confusing, let me know if I need to clarify things!

I know if a post is made during the buffer week it doesn't count towards that AC, would it count towards the next AC or is it kind of stuck in the nether? :3

Probably been answered before and I missed it, so sorry if I'm repeating something. With creatures such as vampires, do they retain their thirst for blood on arriving in Wonderland, and are there some things they can nom on for that?

Will there ever be a time when the restrictions on mirror crossovers are more relaxed do you think? as it stands they need to have mod permission if they want to cross over and it's not a mirror event. maybe it would be something to look into to help more plots on the real side? perhaps a limit of one visit every 2 months for a maximum of three days? just a thought, as some mirror characters could turn things on their heads for the real ones, especially for the people that know them.

(Anonymous) 2014-11-02 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
I can't remember if I suggested this haha, and it was anon so i can't check. Is there any way to make the suggestion of making it easier for single mirrors characters or such to come through? At the moment they need queen (mod) permission, I was wondering if it was possible that mirrors could visit once every two months or so without needing mod permission? Just mainly some people have mirrors that could cause some chaos for the characters if it was that way.

hope that made sense.

Hello. I'm a first-time Dreamwidth RPer (with a couple of years' experience on other sites) thinking about applying here. I'm considering sort of an odd character, Nick Zerhakker from the webcomic Skin Horse. He's a cyborg Black Ops helicopter, which poses some challenges re: getting into buildings and such. At one point in the story, he does obtain an android body he can operate remotely and walk around in. With the right hardware, other people can borrow it when Nick isn't inside, but it's difficult and Nick is a lot better at it than an average Joe would be.

Before I put together too much of an app I thought I'd better confirm: would it be best for the game balance to play him as the helicopter with android body, as the helicopter alone, or trapped in the android? Myself, I'm willing to deal with the challenges and limitations of helicopter-body Nick, I think they'll be interesting, but I wanted to check with the mods first so I don't break anything.

Out of curiosity, if the helicopter is acceptable, how far would he be allowed to fly before reaching the limits of Wonderland?

If the character is just too unusual, of course, I'll pick someone else. Thank you for your time!
